Dr. Campbell specializes in primary eye care for children and adults.  His professional optometric experience includes general eye care, identification of ocular diseases, application of lenses for correction of visual deficiencies, and contact lens fitting. Dr.Campbell is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Optometry and has practiced in Western North Carolina for over 20 years.

A native of Franklin, North Carolina, Dr. Campbell attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1985.  He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with honors in 1990.

Dr. Campbell served several internships including rotations at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA; Vision Consultants in Chattanooga, TN; Carolina Eye Associates in Pinehurst, NC; and Spectrum Family Eye Care in Aberdeen, NC.  Dr. Campbell maintains his private optometric practice, Primary Care Optometry, in Franklin, NC which he opened in 1990.  He also practiced in Bryson City, NC from 1992 to 2006.  Dr. Campbell also sees patients at National Vision Eye Care Center in Wal-Mart Plaza in Sylva.  He joined Asheville Eye Associates in 2011, and will see patients in the Sylva and Bryson City offices.

Dr. Campbell is a member of the American Optometric Society.  He is a member of the North Carolina State Optometric Society and has been a member of the Nantahala District and Mountain District Optometric Societies from 1995 to the present.  He served on the Board of Health for the Macon County Public Health Center from January 2000 to February 2009, and also served as its chairman from 2006 to 2009.

Dr. Campbell and his wife and children live in Otto, NC. They are active in their church, Coweeta Baptist Church, where they serve as youth Co-directors.  They also enjoy attending their children’s sporting events and school activities.
