  Damien C. Macaluso, M.D..
 
 
 

Dr. Macaluso specializes in vision correction surgery, cataract surgery, corneal diseases and corneal transplants. He graduated from California State University, Fullerton and University of California, San Diego Medical School. He served his internship at Mercy Hospital, followed by his residency in ophthalmology for four years at The Casey Eye Institute. He completed a fellowship in Refractive Surgery, Corneal and External Diseases and Corneal Transplants at The Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah where he was awarded the prestigious Heed Fellowship.

Dr. Macaluso is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Casey Eye Institute, Portland Oregon, where he served as a faculty member from
2001-2004.

Dr. Macaluso specializes in vision correction surgery including Photo-refractive Keratectomy (PRK), Laser Assisted in-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) and Conductive Keratoplasty (CK). He continues to actively publish and lecture nationally in his area of expertise.

Dr. Macaluso is committed to provide the latest in refractive surgery technology as well as other surgeries, ensuring excellence in quality eye care.

Dr. Macaluso joined Asheville Eye Associates in 2006. Before joining Asheville Eye Associates, Dr. Macaluso was on faculty at The Casey Eye Institute, one of the top ten eye centers in the country.

Given the demands of his career, free time is at a premium for Dr. Macaluso, but he always enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and finding time for outdoor activities.
